Q. What types of massage are available?

Each therapist is skilled in the following types of massage:

  • Swedish massage - highly relaxing, long flowing strokes, light to medium pressure.
  • Sports massage - customized for the muscles used most in whatever sport or exercise you pursue, medium to deep pressure.
  • Deep tissue massage - massage that affects the deeper tissue structures of the body.

Based on your needs, the therapist may utilize one or more types of massage therapy during your visit. Talk with your therapist to discuss which is best for you and to learn about other beneficial forms of therapy.

Q. What can I expect at my first massage?

It is suggested that you arrive at the club 15-20 minutes early for your first massage. After paying for your session, you will be asked to complete a confidential client questionnaire for the therapist. In the massage room, the therapist will review your medical history and questionnaire, give you an overview of the session, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Certain medical conditions require written approval from your physician. Massage therapists do not diagnose medical problems, prescribe treatment, or manipulate bones. Massage is not considered a substitute for medical attention or counseling. For more information about massage therapy on-line, visit the American Massage Therapy Association at www.amtamassage.org

Q. Will areas of my body that are not being worked on be covered?

Your therapist will leave the room at the beginning of your session so you may undress and make yourself comfortable underneath the sheets on the massage table. Tell your therapist if you prefer to leave on all or some of your clothing. Except for the area being massaged, you will be warmly covered at all times.

Q. How do I schedule a massage?

You may schedule a massage in two ways, in person or over the phone. When scheduling an appointment, you will be asked for your name and phone number(s). Since our therapists only come in for scheduled appointments, it's best to book appointments with at least 24-hours notice. We will make every attempt to schedule same-day appointments but cannot guarantee the therapists' availability. We are not able to accommodate walk-ins at this time. Out of courtesy to all clients, every attempt will be made to start and end sessions on time.
